405 Freeway Reopens In Westwood Following Deadly Crash

WESTWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Police Friday investigated a deadly crash that closed a portion of the 405 Freeway in Westwood.

The crash unfolded shortly after 1 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the freeway at Wilshire Boulevard, according to California Highway Patrol officers.

A preliminary investigation revealed a semi-truck fatally struck a person on the freeway.

The victim's identity is being withheld pending family notification.

The freeway reopened shortly after 4:30 a.m., officials said.

No arrests were reported.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
