Person dead after semi-truck crash into overpass on westbound 10 Freeway in Ontario

One person is dead after a semi-truck crashed into an overpass on the westbound 10 Freeway in Ontario on Thursday morning, causing an hours-long closure.

The California Highway Patrol Sig Alert was issued at the 15 Freeway near Etiwanda Avenue for several hours. As of 11:04 a.m., the two left lanes had reopened, and the remaining lanes were still closed for an unknown duration.

The CHP said several vehicles were involved in the crash that caused significant damage.

The San Bernardino County Transportation Authority has crews working on safety inspections and electrical repairs.

No other injuries were reported.
