Water Main Break Impacts Businesses In Park La Brea Area

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — About a dozen businesses in the Park La Brea area were without water service Saturday morning following the rupture of a main on Beverly Boulevard, according to the Department of Water and Power.

The water main ruptured at 1:45 a.m. Saturday, and caused moderate street damage, DWP's Albert Rodriguez told City News Service. To allow for repairs to the street and the main, water service was shut off to the affected customers at 2:30 a.m., he said. The work is anticipated to be be completed by 4 p.m. Saturday.

While the repair work is going on, an eastbound lane of Beverly Boulevard between Poinsettia Place and Alta Vista Boulevard will be closed.

Rodriguez said the cause of the water main break is unknown.
