Water Main Break Creates Sink Hole In Grand Terrace

GRAND TERRACE (CBSLA.com) — A ruptured water main has created a sink hole in San Bernardino County.

The break happened around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday on the corner of Barton Road and Michigan Street in Grand Terrace, next to Grand Terrace Elementary School.

Crews were repairing the 18-inch pipe and a sinkhole.

The San Bernardino County Fire Department says, at one point, the water was running down Barton Road and onto the 215 Freeway.

California Highway Patrol has shut down the northbound Barton offramp.

A section of Barton Road is also closed and motorists are urged to avoid the area.
