Water District Confirms Tentative Settlement In Tom Selleck Water Dispute

VENTURA (CBSLA.com) — Actor Tom Selleck has reached a tentative settlement with a water district over allegations he stole truckloads of water during California's historic drought.

The Calleguas Municipal Water District in Ventura County claimed Selleck was siphoning water from a Thousand Oaks hydrant to his Hidden Hills Valley Ranch, a 60-acre ranch where he grows avocados.

The district sued, demanding he pay for the water and the private investigator they hired.

Details of the tentative settlement have not been released by either party.

A representative with the water district confirmed to CBS2 that the preliminary settlement was reached Thursday.

The tentative agreement is expected to go before the Calleguas' Board of Directors for final approval at a meeting next Wednesday.
