Washington State Murder Suspect Surrenders In LA County
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A 29-year-old man wanted for a Washington state murder is in custody Wednesday after turning himself in, Los Angeles County sheriff's officials said.
"I can tell you he turned himself in about 8:35 p.m. Tuesday, in L.A. County, but I can't tell you what jurisdiction he turned himself into or where he was currently being held," Deputy Trina Schrader said.
Robert Deshawn Grott was named in an arrest warrant for murder, according to the FBI.
Grott and his 22-year-old brother, Rashaad Grott, drove to the Los Angeles area following a Feb. 1, 2016 homicide in the Tacoma area.
Rashaad Grott admitted to driving his brother into the Los Angeles area, where he spent the night at in a downtown L.A. area hotel on Feb. 2, 2016, according to the FBI.
Rashaad Grott is scheduled to go to court in downtown L.A. on Feb. 23, according to jail records. Both Grott brothers are being held without bail.
