Volunteers Prepare To Feed 15,000 Needy Families On Thanksgiving In O.C.

ANAHEIM (CBSLA.com) — Volunteers spent the night prepping for Thursday's Thanksgiving dinner at Honda Center for thousands of homeless and needy families.

KCAL9's Stacey Butler spoke with several volunteers to see what it took to prepare for the dinner.

Frank Garcia of Casa Garcia Restaurant said that every year he claims it will be the last time he organizes the Thanksgiving dinner.

"Once I get to the line, I see people there hugging me and crying, saying 'Garcia, don't stop giving'," said Garcia.

For the 28th year, the We Give Thanks annual Thanksgiving Dinner will be held for more than 15,000 families in Southern California.

Volunteers explained all of the vegetables were donated by Sprouts, and 600 turkeys that have cooked all day are being transported Wednesday evening to Honda Center.

The event is scheduled to begin at 10:45 a.m. Thursday, where everyone is welcome to attend.
