VIRAL VIDEO: Wild Stunt Involving Souped-Up VW Off-Roading In San Diego To Land Driver In Jail

SAN DIEGO (CBSLA.com) — A wild stunt involving a souped-up Volkswagen off-roading in San Diego is landing the driver behind bars.

Video of the stunt showing Blake Wilkey off-roading around San Diego, spinning out in parking lots, and driving up and down embankments went viral in January.

The 27-year-old Wilkey called it an "urban assault" and posted the video on YouTube.

Turns out police in San Diego were among the 1.3 million viewers who saw the clip.

Wilkey was ultimately charged with 26 different counts. As part of a plea deal this week, he pleaded guilty to four misdemeanor counts.

Wilkey was sentenced to 45 days in jail. He was also placed on probation for three years.

Before his court date, he said on Facebook, "I hope you all enjoyed the video and use me as an example of what not to do."
