Victim Taken To Hospital Following Crime Near USC

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Police said the victim of an unspecified crime near the University of Southern California was transported to a hospital Friday night.

The victim was picked up near Raymond Avenue and West 37th Place around 9:50 p.m., Los Angeles Fire Department spokesperson Eric French said.

French didn't know the extent of that person's injuries.

He said a shooting had been reported in the area, but an officer with the L.A. Police Department's Southwest Division said they hadn't received any reports of a shooting in that area.

USC issued an alert at 1:49 a.m. Saturday saying the area was safe and university operations had returned to normal.
