Veteran Game Show Host Geoff Edwards Dies At 83

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Geoff Edwards' agent says the veteran TV game show host has died at age 83.

Fred Westbrook says Edwards died of complications of pneumonia Wednesday afternoon at a Los Angeles area hospital.

Edwards was the emcee of many 70s and 80s era game shows including "Treasure Hunt," "The New Treasure Hunt" and "Jackpot." He also worked as a radio DJ and made appearances on TV series including "Petticoat Junction," ''I Dream of Jeannie" and "Diff'rent Strokes."

Born Geoffrey Bruce Owen Edwards in Westfield, New Jersey on February 13, 1931, he also hosted and did fill-in duty for shows like "Chain Reaction," "Lucky Partners" and "The Big Spin."

According to his imdb.com profile, his favorite show to host was "Play the Percentages."
