Ventura, Santa Barbara Counties Experience Record-Heat

CAMARILLO (CBSLA.com) — Forecasters say Ventura and Santa Barbara counties experienced record heat Sunday, while downtown Los Angeles fell just short of setting a new record.

The National Weather Service says a record high temperature of 90 degrees was set in Oxnard, beating an old record of 85 degrees set in 1999.

As for Camarillo, a record high of 92 degrees was set at the Camarillo Airport, beating an old record of 85 degrees also set in 1999.

In Santa Barbara at the airport, a record of 83 degrees was set, beating the old record of 81 degrees set in 1999.

Downtown Los Angeles felt just short of setting a record at 89 degrees as a record high of 90 degrees was set in 1999.
