A preliminary 3.0-magnitude earthquake strikes off Ventura County coast

A preliminary 3.0-magnitude earthquake struck off the Ventura County coast, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake's epicenter was recorded 11 miles southeast of Port Hueneme. 

Southern California has had at least three earthquakes of magnitude 2.9 or higher so far this week. The first, a 2.9 magnitude, struck on Monday off the Malibu coast. 

The other, a 3.6 magnitude, struck near Banning.
