Vehicle Drives Through Barricades In Marina Del Rey, Plunges Into Water

MARINA DEL REY (CBSLA.com) — A vehicle drove through at least two barricades in the Marina del Rey area and landed in the water, authorities said.

The incident in the 5500 block of S. Pacific Avenue happened Tuesday night and caused first responders and other personnel to converge onto the scene.

According to witness accounts, one person managed to get out of the vehicle after it plunged into the water.

Despite those reports, Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department said crews would fully search the submerged vehicle.

It remained unclear whether anyone else was inside the vehicle at the time.

The cause of the crashed was not immediately known.
