Firefighters Work To Retrieve Vehicle From Cliff In Elysian Park

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Firefighters Thursday worked to retrieve a vehicle that veered off of a cliff in Elysian Park.

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the car slid about 75 feet down a hillside just before 12:30 a.m. in the area of Angeles Point.

Firefighters requested assistance from a Heavy Rescue Urban Search and Rescue unit to stabilize the vehicle, which was held in place by a tree.

A Los Angeles Police Department airship did a swipe of the cliff side to ensure no patients were involved.

No victims were found in the car.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
