Suspect Killed, 2 Arrested In Van Nuys Officer-Involved Shooting

VAN NUYS (CBSLA) — A stolen vehicle suspect who led police on a chase in Van Nuys and was involved in a subsequent officer-involved shooting Wednesday has died from his injuries.

Police were following the suspect when he crashed and exited the vehicle on Sherman Way and Kester Avenue around 4 p.m. Authorities say the suspect began shooting and officers returned fire.

The suspect was taken to a local hospital by L.A. City Fire. He died from his injuries Wednesday evening, CBS2/KCAL9's Peter Daut reports.

Two women who were passengers inside the vehicle are also in custody.

No officers were injured.
