THOUSAND OAKS (CBSLA.com) — A 37-year-old Van Nuys man was in custody Thursday in connection with a home-invasion robbery in Ventura County.

Rocael Osorio was arrested on Wednesday afternoon in the 7000 Block Owensmouth Avenue in Canoga Park for armed robbery and elder abuse, according to the Ventura County Sheriff's Office.

Osorio is accused of "forcing his way into the elderly victim's residence with a handgun and stealing property," Sgt. Alan Hartkop said.

Detectives have recovered the gun used in the crime and say it appears to be an isolated incident.

Osorio is being held at the Ventura County Jail on $500,000 bail.
