Earthquake Expert Lucy Jones Announces Retirement From USGS
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Seismologist Lucy Jones will retire from the U.S. Geological Survey after 33 years.
Jones announced her retirement plans on Twitter Friday morning.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the 61-year-old earthquake will focus on developing science-based policies related to tsunamis, climate change and other natural disasters following her retirement.
Jones wishes to raise money to develop a center that would bridge science and public policy together.
Her last day at the USGS will be on March 30.
