USC Student's Death At Off-Campus Apartment Believed To Be Overdose

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The death of a USC student whose body was found in an apartment near the university remains under investigation Wednesday.

Authorities say they believe the student died from a drug overdose.

The student, whose age and gender were not immediately available, was found dead at about 2:25 p.m. Tuesday in an apartment in the 30th Street Court Apartments, near 30th and Figueroa streets, according to the Los Angeles Police Department and USC Public Safety Department.

The name of the student was withheld pending family notification.

An autopsy is pending.
