US Men's Volleyball Sweeps Iran In Anaheim

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — Carson Clark led all scorers with 16 points on 14 kills and two aces and the U.S. men's national volleyball team swept Iran on Wednesday night in the second match of the USA Volleyball Cup series.

Clark spiked for match point in the 25-23, 25-23, 25-21 victory at the Anaheim Convention Center. The United States won the first of the four-match series 3-1 on Saturday at USC.

Aaron Russell added 13 points for the U.S. men, who are ranked No. 4 in the world.

Iran, ranked No. 11, is playing in the United States for the first time in more than 35 years. Both teams are using the four-match series as a tuneup for the FIVB World Championships later this month in Poland.

The two teams meet again Friday at San Diego State University.
