US Airways Ends Operations In LAX's Terminal 1, Relocates To Terminal 3

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — US Airways Wednesday will begin operating out of Terminal 3 at Los Angeles International Airport.

The move was negotiated prior to the US Airways' merger last year with American Airlines, which operates out of Terminal 4, airport spokeswoman Amanda Parsons said.

The airline ended operations at Terminal 1 Tuesday night.

American Airlines will continue to operate from Terminal 4 at LAX.  Customers traveling on American Airlines and US Airways should continue to check in for flights and conduct business with the airline operating their flight.

American Airlines and US Airways passengers can now access both the US Airways and American Airlines terminals without leaving security via new shuttle service with stops at Gate 39 in Terminal 3 and at Gate 44 in Terminal 4.

Terminal 3 will not have a US Airways Club lounge, forcing passengers to access the AA lounge in the neighboring terminal.

American Airlines and US Airways provide 175 daily departures to 54 destinations in seven countries from their combined hub at LAX.
