Unlicensed Driver Crashes Into Restaurant In Simi Valley

SIMI VALLEY (CBSLA.com)  –  Authorities said an unlicensed driver lost control of her vehicle Wednesday and crashed into the back of a Simi Valley eatery.

The incident happened just after 1:20 p.m. at Chuy's restaurant located in the 1300 block of Los Angeles Avenue.

The 45-year-old motorist crashed her black Nissan Murano after leaving her job at the Vallarta Market.

Maria Chapela lost control for unknown reasons.

No injuries were reported. There were no pedestrians in the area where the incident occurred, police said.

The Simi Valley Police Department has placed the vehicle on a 30-day impound while they investigate.

Chapela was also cited at the scene for not having a valid California Driver License.

The Simi Valley Police Department wanted to remind the public that knowingly operating a vehicle without a license is a crime.
