Union Station Tree Lighting Event Gets Virtual Makeover

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) — Since nobody could attend the popular Union Station Christmas tree lighting this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the event got a virtual makeover.
The new experience, called Tinsel on the Tracks, shows Santa and his helpers lighting the tree and decorating it with ornaments from communities throughout the country.
The event was streamed Friday night and can now be watched on YouTube.
