Report: UCLA Student Arrested On Sexual Assault Charges

WESTWOOD (CBSLA.com) — A 21-year-old UCLA student faced charges Thursday of false imprisonment and sexual assault, according to a student organization.

Omar Arce, the UCLA Undergraduate Students Association Council Community Service Commissioner, was arrested Wednesday morning by university police.

"On Wednesday, April 2nd, 2014, the Undergraduate Students Association Council Community Service Commissioner was arrested on charges of alleged false imprisonment and sexual assault," the organization said in a press release.

Details surrounding the alleged crimes were not released, but the Daily Bruin confirmed that a student had filed a report against Arce.

Arce, a international development studies major, was being held on $50,000 bail and was expected to make his first court appearance Friday.
