Uber To Offer One-Way Trips From San Diego To Tijuana

SAN DIEGO (CBSLA.com) — Uber is now offering riders living in picturesque San Diego cross-border trips.

The ride hailing service says UberPASSPORT will offer riders a one-way trip from San Diego to Tijuana.

San Diego Mayor Kevin L. Faulconer applauded the new service.

"Uber's new program, UberPASSPORT, highlights the best of what San Diego has to offer by using one of the world's most innovative apps to bridge countries, businesses and families in a way that has never been done before," he said in a statement.

Uber says UberPASSPORT vehicles seat up to 4 passengers.

In order to return to the U.S., Uber says riders can utilize the service, which operates locally and can request "UberENGLISH" to be paired with an English speaking driver within Tijuana.

Riders will be required to bring all of the required documentation for international travel.
