Tyson Foods Recalls Chicken Nuggets

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Tyson Foods is voluntarily recalling 132,520 pounds of cooked chicken nuggets that may be contaminated with hard plastic, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety Inspection Service announced Monday.

Some customers reported finding "foreign material" in the chicken nuggets.

According to Tyson Foods, the material may have come from a plastic transfer belt.

The recall applies to five-pound bags of fully cooked panko chicken nuggets with the use-by date of July 18, 2017.

They also have case codes of 2006SDL03 and 2006SDL33 on the package.

There have been no confirmed reports of illness caused by the recalled nuggets, which should be thrown away or returned.
