Tyga Denies Claims He Made Inappropriate Advances Toward Underage Aspiring Singer
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Rapper Tyga denied allegations that he made inappropriate advances toward an underage aspiring model and singer.
In a statement to the Insider, Tyga's manager said his client approached Molly O'Malia, 14, only because she had a strong musical following and thought she might be a candidate for his music label.
The teen broke down in tears during a news conference Monday when she claimed that the 26-year-old rapper had sent her unwanted messages online.
"He asked me to FaceTime him three times. But I didn't do it. Because of my discomfort with why he wanted to communicate with me, I quickly stopped responding to him," O'Malia said.
Manager Anthony Martini said the rapper only asked her to FaceTime with him and his producers so they could hear her sing.
Martini also sent TMZ screen grabs of text messages between his client and O'Malia where she mentioned to Tyga that she was 17 years old and not 14.
O'Malia is accused of making false claims to seek fame.
Tyga and Kylie Jenner, 18, have been in an on-again-off-again relationship.
