The shooting occurred at approximately 1:30 a.m. at the Palisades At Sierra Del Oro apartment complex in the 2300 block of Palisades Drive.

Corona police responded to find two victims with gunshot wounds in a carport. Both were rushed by ambulance to nearby hospitals. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Two witnesses told CBS2 they saw the victims sitting in a car with the engine running just prior to the shooting.

"When the car did pull in last night, I did get kind of scared, because you could just sense something's bad, so we just left." said a resident who identified herself as Nicole.

Detectives were taping off the car in question late Thursday morning and examining it for evidence. The circumstances that lead up to the shooting were still unclear.

"It's just random, especially for our city, we don't see too much of this, especially in a nicer complex like this," Corona police officer Tobias Kouroubacalis said.

There was no description of the suspect and no word on a motive. Police said they planned to question the two victims.
