Two firefighters injured in Long Beach fire
Two firefighters were injured in a third-alarm fire at a Long Beach strip mall.
According to the Long Beach Fire Department, the fire happened inside of a strip mall on the 5600 block of Atlantic Avenue a little after 4:25 a.m.
Investigators are looking into the cause and origin of the fire, which is said to have severely damaged the building.
"A few businesses won't be able to reopen anytime soon," said Long Beach Firefighter-Paramedic Brian Fisk.
All three firefighters were hospitalized due to their injuries, two of which suffered minor burns, while the other suffered heat-related illness. They are all expected to make a full recovery.
