Couple Found Shot To Death In Chatsworth Condo

CHATSWORTH (CBSLA.com) – A husband and wife in their 70s were found dead from apparent gunshot wounds in a Chatsworth condominium Monday morning, authorities said.

Just after 7 a.m., Los Angeles police responded to a condo complex in the 10400 block of Canoga Avenue to find two victims dead inside one of the units. Both had gunshot wounds, LAPD Homicide Det. Dave Peteque told reporters.

Police said the 911 call came from the husband, who is also the suspect in the case. There was no sign of forced entry into the home and the murder weapon was found at the scene.

The husband was retired and the wife was a manicurist who ran a business out of her own home, neighbors told KCAL9. The couple also had one daughter together, nearby residents said.

The couple were not immediately identified by police. Homicide detectives were still on scene collecting evidence as of noon.
