Two arrested for armed robbery at Moreno Valley high school

Authorities arrested an 18-year-old man and a teenager in connection with an armed robbery at a Moreno Valley High School earlier this week. 

It happened at around 5:10 p.m. on Tuesday at Canyon Springs High School, located in the 23000 block of Cougar Canyon Drive, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department. 

Deputies arrived after receiving reports of an armed robbery involving two suspects at the school. Both were located and taken into custody. 

"The firearm used in the incident was located in a vehicle parked on campus," deputies said. 

They identified one of the suspects as 18-year-old Norah Arias of Moreno Valley. The second suspect was unidentified due to his age. 

Arias was booked on suspicion of possessing a firearm and ammunition on a school campus, while the juvenile was booked for robbery and possession a firearm and ammunition on school grounds.
