Garage Fire Exposes Marijuana Grow In Tujunga

TUJUNGA (CBSLA.com) — Firefighters Thursday discovered a marijuana grow while battling a blaze inside of a garage in Tujunga.

Just before 1 a.m., firefighters were sent to a property located in the 10600 block of North Wisley Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Upon their arrival, crews located flames burning within an unattached garage.

As firefighters were battling the flames, they discovered a marijuana grow operation on the property. The operation was reported to the Los Angeles Police Department and a narcotics unit was sent to assist at the scene.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze in just over a half hour.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
