Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Selling Homemade Fireworks At Sylmar Gas Station

SYLMAR (CBSLA.com) — A man has been arrested on suspicion of selling homemade fireworks at a Sylmar gas station.

The incident unfolded about 3:45 p.m. after police received a call and located a truck at Roxford Street near the 5 Freeway.

Upon arrival, police found a large amount of fireworks in the truck, which was parked at the gas station.

The discovery led authorities to evacuate some buildings in the area and shut down a portion of the 5 Freeway while they detonated the fireworks. Those evacuations were lifted as of 8 p.m.

Multiple agencies responded to the scene.

No one was hurt, and the man was subsequently arrested.
