Truck Driver Dies After Crash Along Same Beverly Hills Road As Deadly 2014 Collisions

BEVERLY HILLS (CBSLA.com) — Another motorist has died along the same stretch of Beverly Hills road that left two LAPD officers dead in a series of accidents in 2014.

Beverly Hills Fire Department crews were called out to the scene along the 800 block of Loma Vista Drive shortly before 8:30 a.m., according to officials.

Upon their arrival, authorities located a truck and a vehicle at the bottom of the hill near Doheny Street. Police say the driver of the truck became trapped in the wreckage for about a half-hour.

The truck driver, who was in his 20s, later died at a hospital about 10:30 a.m., said coroner's Assistant Chief Ed Winter. His name was withheld pending notification of his relatives.

On March 7, 2014, a dump truck collided with a Los Angeles Police Department cruiser on the same stretch of roadway, killing Officer Nicholas Lee
and injuring his partner.

On May 9 of the same year, off-duty LAPD Detective Ernest Allen was killed when a concrete mixer collided with his vehicle on the same street.
