4 Hospitalized After Car Crashes Near PCH In Malibu

MALIBU (CBSLA.com) — Four people were hospitalized Monday for treatment of injuries sustained in a traffic collision in Malibu.

The crash unfolded shortly after 4 a.m. on Topanga Canyon, located just two miles north of Pacific Coast Highway, according to Los Angeles County firefighters.

Upon their arrival, paramedics airlifted the victims from the scene.

Three of the victims are trauma patients, officials said.

CBS2's Stephanie Simmons reported Pacific Coast Highway has been shut down until further notice.

Authorities are investigating whether the vehicle went over the side of the roadway or collided into anything.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
