Trader Joe's Pistachios Recalled For Possible Salmonella Contamination

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) —  Trader Joe's is recalling three types of pistachios because they may be contaminated with salmonella.

The recalled products include Trader Joe's Dry Roasted & Unsalted Pistachios (UPC 0007 9990), Trader Joe's Dry Roasted & Salted Pistachios (UPC 0007 9983) and Trader Joe's 50% Less Salt Roasted & Salted Pistachios (UPC 0011 1348). They are marked with "Best if used by" date codes from 2016 OCT 27 through 2016 NOV 04.

Trader Joe's says no illnesses have been reported to date, but that the products have been removed from store shelves out of an abundance of caution.

The Monrovia-based grocer says anyone who has already purchased any of these pistachios should not eat them and instead throw them out or return it to any Trader Joe's for a full refund.
