Tom Arnold Files Police Report Against Mark Burnett Over Alleged Pre-Emmys Party Scuffle
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA/CBS NEWS) — Actor Tom Arnold filed a police report Monday alleging that he was the victim of a battery by producer Mark Burnett at a pre-Emmy Awards charity event in Century City.
Police confirmed the report was made Monday morning at the Los Angeles Police Department's West Los Angeles Station. No arrest has been made.
Arnold claimed on Twitter Sunday night that Burnett tried to choke him, then ran away at the charity event.
After filing the complaint Monday, Arnold told reporters, "If he comes anywhere near me, he's gonna get a pounding.[...] This is a guy that's worth hundreds of millions of dollars, Mark Burnett, who just tried to murder me at a party.
"And then he has this complete psycho — like he has lost it — and he latches on," Arnold continued gesturing a choking motion.
Burnett's wife, Roma Downey, countered that claim with a tweet of her hand and said it got bruised when the actor ambushed her and her husband.
Got this bruise tonight when Tom Arnold tried to ambush my husband Mark and me at a charity event. Is your TV show worth it Tom?Please stop pic.twitter.com/lXvuKjIMI2

Arnold says Downey is lying and he plans to sue her for defamation.
"I didn't even see his wife," Arnold said. "His wife's insane, she showed a fake bruise. How big of a liar is she?"
The LAPD said earlier Monday that they are not investigating any reports of violence involving Arnold or Burnett, but Arnold later tweeted that he would press charges.
Sitting in West LAPD filing charges against your best bud Apprentice Outtakes Mark Burnett who lost his mind, attacted & chocked me last nite at Katzenberg's Night Before The Emmy's Party. Last fight I got into there was with Harvey Weinstein. Mark Burnett is scared:) #TrumpTapes

Actress Alyson Hannigan tweeted that she thought the altercation was a joke until security stepped in.

Arnold tweeted that actor Kevin Bacon and his daughter Sosie witnessed the scuffle.
FYI: Kevin Bacon is a solid reliable brawl witness. Sosie Bacon is a wingman.

A CBS2 request for comment from Burnett's and Downey's representatives was not returned Monday.
Arnold's new show, "The Hunt for the Trump Tapes," is set to debut Tuesday. The show follows Arnold's attempts to find tapes that show Donald Trump expressing bigoted views on the set of "The Apprentice," which Burnett produced.
Arnold claims that's at the root of the animosity between the two.
"This guy talks to Donald Trump three times a week," said Arnold. "He's complicit, he supports him, and he's got the 'Apprentice' stuff.[...] Mark Burnett has that, I know exactly where those tapes are. He could show America right now. He is hurting America."
After initially saying he did not want to talk to CBS2's Dave Lopez, Arnold ended up talking to reporters for about 20 minutes. When the impromptu interview was over, he said, "Maybe I said too much."
CBS2 also spoke to Arnold's former wife Roseanne Barr, who was speaking at a Yom Kippur event in Beverly Hills. When asked if she was following the melee, she said, "Oh no, I try to stay out of it.[...] Well, I saw something on Twitter about it, but I don't really, you know — that's all a part of the past."
Barr made headlines earlier this year when she insinuated former Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett was a product of the Muslim Brotherhood and "Planet of the Apes" in a tweet. Jarrett is African American.
ABC subsequently canceled her popular program, a reboot of her eponymous show from the nineties.
