Expert Tips For Detecting Dental Disease In Your Pet

STUDIO CITY (KCAL9) — Dr. Liz Hanson, a veterinarian at Corona Del Mar Animal Hospital, appeared on KCAL9 News on Sunday morning with tips on keeping your pet's mouth healthy and fresh smelling.

Hanson says bad breath is almost always the first sign of dental disease, which is experienced in 78 percent of dogs and 68 percent of cats over the age of three.

If left unchecked, an unhealthy mouth can lead to heart or kidney disease and actually take years off your pet's life.
