Three-Strikes Candidate Could Get Life Imprisonment For Residential Burglaries

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say a 29-year-old man convicted of two residential burglaries and attempted burglary could get more than 100 years to life in prison when he's sentenced next month.

Davshonn Hennes of Los Angeles was found guilty by jury this month in connection with two residential burglaries and one attempted burglary.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said in a written statement that Hennes is a three-strikes candidate. He is expected to be sentenced on Oct. 24, in Torrance.

According to authorities, Hennes, David Woods, and Antone Presley ransacked the Lawndale home of a mother and daughter on Sept. 10, 2013.

Hennes, Presley, and Terrance Bailey also committed residential burglaries in Los Angeles and Inglewood, authorities said.

The statement said Woods and Presley pled guilty to burglary in Dec. 2013.

Woods was sentenced to four years in prison with a felony strike while Presley received a sentence of two years in prison with two felony strikes.

Bailey pled guilty in June 2014 prior to going to trial and was sentenced to two years in prison with two felony strikes.
