Thousands Visit Nancy Reagan's Casket As Final Preparations Are Underway For Friday's Funeral

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Thousands of people came to pay their respects to former First Lady Nancy Reagan on Thursday.

Reagan's funeral is scheduled for Friday, and features a star-studded guest list.

James Manning worked closely with Reagan for more than a decade as her assistant.

"I think she'd be surprised but smile because she loved what she did as First Lady," Manning said.

"I think this reflects an understanding of the difference she made," he added.

Final preparations are underway for Friday's funeral service at the Reagan Presidential Library.

John Heubusch, Executive Director of the Presidential Foundation and Library says former Chief of Staff James Baker will deliver the main eulogy for Reagan.

Nancy's children, Ron and Patty are also slated to speak.

Among the presidential families expected to attend are First Lady Michelle Obama, former President George W. Bush, former First Ladies Laura Bush, Hillary Clinton, and Rosalyn Carter.

Also Governor Jerry Brown, Senator Nancy Pelosi, and former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger are expected, as well as Hollywood stars Bo Derek, Angelica Houson, Tom Selleck, and Gary Sinise.

"We're sad to say goodbye, but glad we're doing it the right way," John Heubusch said.
