Thief Stealing Thousands Of Dollars Worth Of Purses, Wallets From Beverly Hills Boutiques

BEVERLY HILLS (CBSLA.com) — The public's help is needed Thursday to identify a man police say has been stealing expensive purses and wallets from Beverly Hills boutiques.

Police say the suspect has been targeting exclusive retail stores over the past couple of months, stealing high-end purses and wallets worth several thousands of dollars in property loss.

The suspect typically enters a store around lunch time while carrying a shopping bag and conceals merchandise inside the bag, then leaves on foot, Beverly Hills police spokesman Lt. Lincoln Hoshino said.

The suspect is described as a black man with light skin in his late 20s or early 30s, tall with a thin build, long dreadlocks usually pulled back into a ponytail and green or hazel eyes.

Police believe he may also be behind similar thefts in West Hollywood and Los Angeles.

Anyone with information about the man's identity can call the Beverly Hills detective bureau at (310) 285-2150.
