The Eagles Bring Rock 'N' Roll Back To The Forum

INGLEWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Don't call it a comeback, the Forum has been here for years.

The iconic Forum in Inglewood on Wednesday night will host its first marquee rock concert in years, a series of six performances by The Eagles, after being purchased by the Madison Square Garden Co. and undergoing a $100 million renovation that makes it the largest indoor music venue in the country with as many as 17,500 seats.

The new year promises to be a big one for the Forum, which is also slated to host Justin Timberlake on his 20/20 Experience World Tour on Jan. 20.

JT and The Eagles are far from the biggest names in music to play the Forum, which was known as the premiere music venue in Los Angeles before the construction of the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles.

The British band Cream played the first shows at the Forum in October of 1968. The Forum has seen rock 'n' roll giants such as Elvis, the Doors, the Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin play its stage, the latter playing the Forum 16 times between 1970 and 1977.
