Tesla Driver Sought In Pasadena Hit-And-Run That Killed Motorcyclist

PASADENA (CBSLA.com) — A Tesla driver is wanted in connection with the hit-and-run death of a motorcyclist in Pasadena.

The crash happened at about 11:45 p.m. Thursday at Marengo Avenue and Washington Boulevard, according to the Pasadena Police Department.

Oscar Chavez, 60, of Pasadena died at the scene, the coroner's office reported.

A gray 2015 Tesla four-door sedan was driving north on Marengo Avenue at a high rate of speed when it collided with the motorcycle at the intersection of Washington Boulevard, police said.

The driver of the Tesla abandoned the car and ran off.

The only available description of the driver is he is a white or Hispanic man.
