Temperatures Drop, Winds Pick Up Across Southern California

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A cold weather front threatened to drop temperatures across Southern California on Monday.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures could drop between 10 to 20 degrees today.

Rainfall is expected to arrive around 11 a.m. for areas in Ventura County and 1 p.m. for the Greater Los Angeles area.

Forecasters said the storm could also trigger thunderstorms and localized heavy rain.

CBS2's Evelyn Taft reported damaging wind gusts blowing up to 20 miles per hour could continue through tonight. Downed trees and power lines were also reported throughout Southern California.

Snowfall is possible for the Grapevine area, while chain requirements were issued by Cal Trans in the Big Bear Lake area.
