Temecula House Fire's Death Toll Rises To 5

TEMECULA (CBSLA.com) — Five bodies were found inside a Temecula house burned in a suspicious fire, authorities said Tuesday.

Flames broke out shortly before 6 a.m Monday in the home on Cruz Way, off of Calle Nopal, in the unincorporated area of Temecula.

After putting out the flames within the hour, Riverside County Fire Department firefighters discovered the human remains.

Riverside County sheriff's deputies initially said they found one body.

A passersby was able to help one woman escape from a back house.

The victims have not been identified.

There have been reports that the house may have been also used as a senior care facility - something investigators have not confirmed.
