Teens Arrested For Allegedly Causing $9K In Graffiti Vandalism At Eastvale Park

EASTVALE (CBSLA.com) — Two teenagers are accused of causing more than $9,000 in graffiti vandalism at an Eastvale park.

The suspects, identified as 14- and 17-year-old boys, were arrested Thursday and placed in the custody of their parents, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

Authorities said Orchard Park, which is located at Blossom Way and Sumner Avenue, has been vandalized for the past few months.

Recently, a deputy received a tip that a 14-year-old boy carrying a backpack with graffiti on it might be involved in the spray-painting incidents.

The deputy located the boy at the Eastvale Community Center, where his backpack had graffiti that was similar to that in the park. The boy was detained and other evidence was located at his home.

The older suspect was identified later.

City officials will be seeking reimbursement for the cost of cleanup and repair, authorities said.
