Teenager Arrested On Suspicion Of Stabbing His Sister To Death In Claremont

CLAREMONT (CBSLA.com) — A 14-year-old boy suspected of stabbing his older sister to death remains in custody, police said Thursday.

According to the Claremont Police Department, the stabbing occurred around 5 p.m. on Wednesday within a home located in the 300 block of Andover Drive.

Officers explained the suspect and victim were alone at the residence when the incident unfolded.

Paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene. On Thursday, the victim was identified as 15-year-old Aspen Geurts.

The murder weapon, a knife, was located on the suspect when he was detained.

Police said he is being held at the Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall in Pomona.

The investigation is ongoing as the motive for the stabbing remains unclear.
