Teen Driver Crashes Onto Santa Ana Sidewalk, 4 Hurt

SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) – A teen has been arrested on DUI charges after driving up onto a sidewalk in Santa Ana and hitting two pedestrians Thursday morning, police say.

The crash occurred before 11 a.m. on Greenville Street, just south of Edinger Avenue near Valley High School.

According to Santa Ana police, a 2012 Honda carrying several juveniles went onto a sidewalk and struck two pedestrians before hitting a pole.

The two pedestrians, along with two passengers, were hurt. Three of them were transported to a nearby hospital with trauma-related injuries, Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Larry Kurtz told CBS2. Their conditions were not confirmed. The fourth victim had minor injuries.

Open alcohol containers were found in the car and the driver was arrested on charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants, police said.

The exact circumstances of the crash were not confirmed.
