Teen Charged With Murder Of Boy, 15, At Lake Elsinore Hotel

LAKE ELSINORE (CBSLA.com) — A teen accused of killing another teen at a Lake Elsinore hotel made his first appearance in court Tuesday.

Ryan Jawad, 16, is charged as an adult in the killing of 15-year-old Gage Seal. Jawad faces one count each of murder and possession of stolen property, with a sentence-enhancing firearm-use allegation, according to a spokesman for the Riverside County District Attorney's Office.

Police say Jawad deliberately shot Gage at a hotel in Lake Elsinore early Sunday morning.

Prosecutors would not reveal any of the evidence against Jawad or say how the shooting unfolded. He does not yet have a permanent attorney and said very little in court Tuesday, aside from agreeing to postpone his arraignment.

Jawad, who is being held on $2 million bail, is expected to enter a plea at his next hearing June 16.
