Teen Arrested On Suspicion Of Murdering Her Boyfriend In San Bernardino

SAN BERNARDINO (CBSLA.com) — An 18-year-old woman who allegedly confessed to killing her boyfriend through a Facebook post has been arrested, police said Monday.

According to the San Bernardino Police Department, Nakasia James was arrested in Hemet on Sunday in connection with the stabbing death of 21-year-old Dorian Powell.

Just after 2:30 a.m. on Jan. 11, Powell was found stabbed to death at a home located in the 2000 block of North Central Avenue.

During a preliminary investigation, screenshots surfaced of an apparent Facebook post from an account under the name Nakasia Macc James, which described a domestic fight with a drunk boyfriend she named as Dorian Powell.

The Facebook post read in part: "…hit mee in the face and we was really fightn and I gt the knife and stabbed him ddnt think I would hurt him BT I did he died and I'm on the run pigs lookn for me…" (sic) The post has since been removed.

Homicide detectives said the stabbing appeared to be related to a domestic disturbance, but there were no previous calls or related incidents at the residence.

The investigation is ongoing.
