Making A Difference: Team Kids Honors OC Girl For Helping Homeless People

PLACENTIA (CBSLA.com) — Khloe Thompson is used to handing gifts to others, but it was a different story Sunday when she was on the receiving end of a big surprise.

"Keeping the secret was pretty hard. I was trying to keep her in the kitchen so she didn't look out the window," said Alisha Thompson, Khloe's mom.

"She just told me to open the door," said Khloe, "and then I see you guys!"

40 kids with balloons showed up at Khloe's door Sunday, honoring her for making a difference.

Khloe makes bags filled with toiletries for homeless women.

Sunday, she got an award and a $100 check to use toward her charity.

Khloe isn't old enough to travel with Team Kids to honor others like her, but she plans to join them one day.
